  • Farhiya Ahmed, President

    As a Somali-Canadian filmmaker, Farhiya Ahmed's interest in storytelling came from exploring complex narratives, social issues and lived experiences of first and second-generation immigrants. Through film, Ahmed wants to explore the untold stories of people in her communities and show a nuanced depiction of immigrants with its specificity and universal themes.

  • Monika Nikolovska, Producer

    Monika Nikolovska is a Producer based in Toronto, ON. Her interest in the film industry started at an early age when she first watched a behind-the-scenes clip of a TV show. Soon after, she started exploring the film and television world and realized that this was something she wants to do as well. She pursued a B.A. in Film at York University and found that producing is her main niche.

    Now, Monika is a self-taught editor and content creator for both social media and film. She is passionate about writing and editing and is always looking to help and guide others to realize their stories. She loves the behind-the-scenes work and knows what it takes to successfully tell a story.

  • SILAS ELI, CINEMATOGRAPHER

    Silas Eli is a cinematographer at Happy Pictures based in the GTA, Ontario, and is a student member of the CSC. They currently focus on documentary projects working as a Director of Photography and Picture Editor.

    Through capturing unique visuals and weaving elements together in post-production, Silas is dedicated to telling powerful stories that explore the connection and passion among communities.

  • Siyao Guo, Sound Recordist

    Siyao is a sound recordist, alternative filmmaker, and composer based in Toronto, Ontario. She takes on various projects ranging from experimental short films to narrative features. She’s also a sound assistant permittee under Nabet700.
